#26: EU-PFIZER COVERUP UNDERWAY
Public barred from Ursula von der Leyen's cross-examination + suspect arrested for driving into Irish anti-migrant protesters + Sweden's decision to not close schools saved kids + MORE!
PUBLIC BARRED FROM VON DER LEYEN QUESTIONING
The European Parliament has moved to bar the public from accessing the testimony of Commission President Urusula von der Leyen’s who is set to appear before a special committee on Covid-19.
For some time now, von der Leyen has refused to disclose a series of private text messages between herself and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, even though she approved a multi-billion euro vaccine deal with the company.
In a statement published on his Facebook, Romanian MEP and pandemic critic Cristian Terheș accused other parties of shielding the Commissioner from public scrutiny.
“You have here the best evidence of a cover-up of the biggest corruption scandal in the history of the EU, if not the world,” said Terheș.
“Transparency is a basic pillar of the EU’s foundation. Undermining this pillar means undermining the EU, yet this is exactly what Ursula von der Leyen and the cabal of corrupt bureaucrats and politicians who protect her are directly responsibly of.”
During a meeting of the Conference of Presidents (CoP), parliamentary leaders decided to conduct a closed-door cross-examination of the commissioner instead of a public hearing.
"It was agreed that CoP will be able to raise ... concerns in their next regular meeting with the president of the Commission,” reported Politico.
Only two parliamentary groups pushed for a public grilling of von der Leyen including the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) as well as Identity and Democracy (ID).
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR DRIVING INTO IRISH ANTI-MIGRANT PROTEST
Police have arrested and charged 36-year-old Stephen Bedford with dangerous driving. Last week Bedford’s car collided with one anti-migrant protestor in Dublin, Ireland.
The suspect livestreamed the incident which can be viewed on Gript’s website.
Bedford has since denied claims that he intentionally drove into the crowd which was protesting plans to open a migrant centre in the community of East Wall.
Bedford is a known counter-demonstrator who has been active at various East Wall protests. A court heard that Bedford had “strong political” beliefs and was involved in “tense standoffs.”
Media coverage of the anti-migrant protests has labelled participants as far-right and racist. Additionally, reporting on the crash, have painted Bedford in a sympathetic light.
“The real hatred in this debate is being expressed by politicians and by the media against ordinary people who oppose government policies,” protest organizer Malachy Steenson told Gript.
“(They) are whipping up hatred against ordinary people and we are now seeing a third incident of a card driving at or through the protesters.”
80 ACADEMICS, SCIENTISTS DEMAND END TO TRANSGENDER PROPAGANDA
A group of 80 academics, scientists and healthcare professionals have written to France’s Minister of Health to demand an end to the indoctrination of children by state LGBT propaganda.
The open letter was prompted by a webpage on a federal website titled: “My child is transgender, how can I support him?”
In their letter, the group denounces the presentation of gender theory as scientific fact.
“However, not only is this theory not based on any scientific foundation, but it also rejects an indisputable biological, scientific fact: the human species is made up of two sexes, male and female, and of two genders, the feminine and the masculine,” the letter states.
“No reference is ever made to real specialists in childhood and adolescence, psychologists, doctors or biologists.”
The letter gs on to accuse social media influencers and LGBT activists of persuading children and adolescents into undertaking life-altering medical procedures with little foresight.
“Through false allegations, these "influencers" induce fragile children and adolescents to engage in long and costly physiologically and psychologically debilitating therapies,” it continues.
In conclusion, the group demands that the government removes the web page.
SWEDEN’S DECISION TO NOT CLOSE SCHOOLS SAVED KIDS
Sweden’s decision to keep schools open has saved a countless number of kids from learning delays, a new study has found.
Oxford University researcher Per Engzell concluded that due to pandemic-related school closures by countries across the world, children lost out collectively on the equivalent of one third of a school year.
This wasn’t the case for Sweden, however, where students learned as much as usual.
“Many already predicted in the initial phase of the pandemic that extensive school closures would have serious consequences. But even if the insight was there, few countries showed enough political courage to prioritize children's learning,” said Engzell.
“The Swedish students have managed without consequences.”
More and more knowledge is mounting that shows the decision to keep schools open was the correct one. Studies are also showing that decisions by governments to shutter schools had very little impact on the spread of Covid-19.
MELONI SUCCEEDS IN BANNING MIGRANT SHIPS
Italy’s Chamber of Deputies has ratified Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s decree which bans NGO ships from dropping off migrants on the nation’s coast.
The decree was one of Meloni’s first moves as leader following her stunning electoral victory last year.
Passing with 187 votes in favour, the decree is a testament to the stability of Meloni’s coalition government.
Now that it has been ratified, ships found to break the law will be fined up to €50,000 and have their vessels impounded.
According to Forza Italia MP Paolo Emilio Russo, the decree will hopefully encourage migrants to pursue legal ways to enter into Italy.
“(We will continue) to take care of the minors (…) who end up on the hell of those ships, passed through the hands of those murderers who are the smugglers,” said Russo.
