A briefing prepared for the European Parliament before the United States’ midterms smears Twitter CEO Elon Musk and former president Donald Trump as threats to democracy.
The 12 page memo by the European Parliamentary Research Service was submitted as background material to assist in the EU’s work.
Like everything that comes out of Brussels, the report Democracy in America 2022: Current challenges to US democracy and first lessons for Europe reeks of European self-righteousness.
In total, Trump is mentioned 35 different times while Musk receives 13 mentions under headings such as “Twitter under Musk: ‘Freed’ or unhinged?”.
If you were expecting objectivity on the situation, don’t look to EU researchers. They accuse Musk of being an amplifier of “false information” and being suspected of being “involuntarily used by Putin” as a mouthpiece.
“This, combined with sometimes erratic remarks, further fuels concern over the balance between Musk's economic interests and democratic values,” the EU concludes.
The EU has some of the strictest internet regulation rules outside of China and soon after Musk tweeted “the bird is freed” on Oct. 27, European commissioner Thierry Breton responded with a veiled threat saying “In Europe, the bird will fly by our rules.”
Over the weekend, the former president’s Twitter account was reinstated after Musk held a poll on the matter with nearly 52% of voters calling for Trump’s return.
Clearly this upsets the eurocrats. In the report, they don’t even hide repeating Democrat talking points about a non-existent threat to the midterm elections posed by Trump.
“On 2 November 2022, President Biden, citing worrying developments in the run-up
to the mid-term elections, warned that 'We can't take democracy for granted any longer',” wrote researchers.
Remember, these are the very same people who laughed at Trump’s warning that “Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy” in 2018. Who is laughing now?
For a supposed expert briefing, the report is full of things that didn’t happen and politically motivated conjecture.
“Experts on authoritarianism compare the dynamics of election denial to authoritarian movements in other countries, including Russia and Turkey, warning that the 2022 election may pave the way for broader efforts to undermine democracy,” wrote researchers.
PARIS CANCELS GENDER-CRITICAL CONFERENCE
On Nov. 15, authorities at the Mairie de Paris Centre caved to demands of rabid LGBTQ activists and have cancelled a planned event with the Observatoire Petite Sirene warning about the harms hormone treatments pose to kids.
“It is intolerable that anyone, in the name of an alleged defense of minorities, should stand in the way of this,” wrote organizers.
Conveniently the 28th LGBTQ Paris film festival is still happening on Nov. 29.
“Cinema and culture have a decisive role to play in making people visible #LGBT and thus fighting against LGBTphobia,” an advertisement for the event claims.
TINY POLLUTION PARTICLES MAY CAUSE “SUDDEN DEATH”
It seems like every week we hear about some new undiscovered cause behind an uptick in heart attacks.
This time researchers claim that “increased concentrations of tiny particles” floating in the air can lead to cardiac arrest.
"We have produced clear evidence of a short-term association of PM2.5 with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, which is a catastrophic event that often results in sudden death," said epidemiologist Joel Aik.

In Madrid, the Communist Party of Spain had an attempt to mint hammer and sickle stamps celebrating their centenary foiled by a judge.
On behalf of a request by a Christian lawyers association, the commemorative stamp was provisionally suspended. Lawyers argued that it was “intolerable” for public funding to go towards promoting the murderous ideology.
"Issuing this stamp goes against the duty of neutrality of public administrations, the law on historical memory and even the resolution of the European Parliament," said association president Polonia Castellanos.
"It supposes the exaltation of a political party that committed crimes and persecuted thousands of people solely because of their faith.”
20,000 KNIFE ATTACKS IN GERMANY
Germany has some of the strictest gun laws in Europe even requiring citizens to get a “minor firearm certificate” to own air soft rifles.
Yet, strict gun control hasn’t stopped violent crime. Research by the German outlet “Die Welt” found that the country saw nearly 20,000 stabbings in 2020 alone resulting in approximately 100 deaths.
Broken down further 39.6% of the attacks were committed by non-Germans and 17.4% were by people who are in Germany illegally.
KOREAN WHITE SUPREMACISTS
A little village in Korea is the site of a full-out clash of civilizations. Korean locals opposed to an Islamic mosque being built in Daehyeong-dong have gone to extreme lengths to protest the project.
After a Muslim religious group purchased a plot of land to build a mosque, residents erected pig heads throughout the area, hosted pork cook outs in the alleyways and blasted loud music during prayer time.
“The ongoing aggression towards Muslims is residents’ last resort to protect our living environment,” claimed 62-year-old local, Jang.
