LAWSUITS OVER VON DER LEYEN’S SHADY VACCINE DEAL PILE UP
Lawsuits involving European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen are piling up and the latest charge was filed by Belgian citizen Frédéric Baldan.
Baldan recently filed a criminal complaint against von der Leyen in the European Court of Justice criticizing her refusal to disclose a series of text messages with Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla.
According to the plaintiff, refusing to be transparent about the content of the text messages concerning the biggest contract ever signed with a private company by the European Union was in violation of the law.
Specifically, the lawsuit argues that the European Commission president broke the EU’s Charter of Fundamental Freedoms.
The European Commission has largely been able to keep a lid on the content of von der Leyen’s discussions with Burla but there has been growing pressure and calls for transparency concerning the sweeping contracts signed during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Baldan, if von der Leyen deleted her messages with Bourla – which constitute official correspondences concerning taxpayer funds – it is an offence punishable by Belgian law.
SOROS’ OPEN SOCIETY ABANDONS THE EUROPEAN UNION
George Soros’ Open Society Foundations will drastically scale back operations in the European Union to focus on other parts of the world.
This comes as the senior Soros passes off the leadership of his vast philanthropic empire to his son, Alexander Soros.
First reported by the Financial Times, emails show how the Foundations will seek a new “strategic direction” and termination of large projects in the EU.
“The new approved strategic direction provides for withdrawal and termination of large parts of our current work within the European Union, shifting our focus and allocation of resources to other parts of the world,” the email read.
Another reason behind the shift was the fact that EU institutions were “already allocating significant resources to human rights, freedom and pluralism.”
“Work internal to Europe will be extremely limited,” the email stated.
The Hungarian-born Soros has been a major opponent of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, focusing much of his criticism at his former homeland.
SEX PISTOLS SINGER HITS BACK AT THE FAR-LEFT
Notorious punk rock legend Johnny Rotten has come out against the “elitism” of the contemporary left in a recent interview with the German outlet Die Welt.
According to the outlet, the artist behind the Johnny Rotten persona, John Lydon, said that mainstream politics was dominated by condescension.
“The world has gone far too far to the left,” said Lydon.
“If you criticize unlimited immigration, you are branded a racist.”
Lydon also lamented the fact that working class values traditionally upheld by the left are being abandoned by people who are essentially following political trends.
“And when the critical mass of such people is reached, then the world ends,” said Lydon.
INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING ORG ANNOUNCES “OPEN CATEGORY” FOR TRANS SWIMMERS
A main international swimming competition organization has created a new “open category” for competitors in response to debates around biological men who identify as women wanting to join women’s competitions.
According to the World Aquatics, transgender athletes will be welcome to join the upcoming World Cup in Berlin, Germany under the newly created category.
“This pioneering pilot project highlights the organisation’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity,” said the organization.
“Detailed entry requirements and entry times and process information will be available soon.“
This comes after the organization excluded trans swimmers from its women’s categories last year.
World Aquatics is also in charge of administering international water sports with recognition from the International Olympic Committee.
Sports overseen by the organization include swimming, diving, water polo and more.
